Composed of convection chamber and radiation chamber, tubular cracking furnace plays a more and more important role in petrochemical industry. The cracking furnace tubes hang in the center of radiation chamber, which is the hardcore of tubular cracking furnace. Their structure and dimensions are changed based on furnace design.
Ethylene Cracking Tube
Previously, the cracking tube is usually made of HK-40 alloy steel containing 20% nickel and 25% chromium, which could be used in the condition of up to 1050℃. After 1970s, 15% more nickel is added to produce HP-40 alloy steel. This revolution allows the tube to be used in 1100℃ high-temperature environment. Cracking tubes are manufactured by centrifugal casting with 2～7 in of O.D. Their inner surface is usually required to machining to reduce coking during reaction process.
