Studded tubes also called nail-ribbed tubes, are widely used in the petrochemical industry, especially in the convection chamber of a tube heating furnace. The nail-head tube is often used as the heat transfer element so as to enhance the heat exchange effect outside the tube.
The nail tube can increase the heat transfer coefficient of the flue gas side. The area of the nail tube is 2-3 times that of the bulk tube. Due to the application of the nail tube, the same heat intensity as the radiation can be obtained under a reasonable design.
